Roy Martin

Roy Gene “ Doc” Martin,  73, of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Baptist Health in Louisville, KY.

He was born on June 29, 1944 in Carrollton, Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Homer Irvin Martin and Anna Elizabeth Towles Martin. He had worked at the former Rich Ladder Factory in Carrollton, the former Long Johns Silvers in Carrollton and he had done farming work most of his life.

He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

He is survived by his son, Joshua David Martin of Carrollton, KY, a step-daughter, Susan Jones of Ghent, KY, a step-son, Ernie Ligon of Worthville, KY, two sisters, Sue Carol Gray of Milton, KY, and Shirley Willhoite of Worthville, KY, two brothers, Casper “Butch” Martin of Campbellsburg, KY, and Ralph Edward Martin of Carrollton, KY, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, .

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth Rosella Martin on January 2, 2012, a sister, Louella Rucker, a brother, Roger Martin, three grandchildren, Zachary Williamson, David Lee Leatherman and Brandon Thomas Leatherman.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
