Our precious mother, Sandra Clay Keesy, 71, of Cynthiana, KY, died and went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday March 3, 2021.
She was born in Dayton, OH, on October 18, 1949, the daughter of the late Frank Clay Franklin and the late Elnora Lee Franklin. She has one living brother.
Witty, funny and beautiful she was creative and skilled in the art of pottery. Sandy, the name her friends called her, wasn’t her favorite name. Her favorite name was MOM and she had her hands full with two boys. Sandy taught her sons to be gentlemen and to be strong. She loved nothing more than being near them. A friend of her boys remembers her “always being there”, at school functions and ball games. Another family friend shared “I remember your mom being the crossing guard at the light on 5th street, helping the kids cross the road and nearly getting hit by a speeding vehicle; she lunged like I’d never seen anyone do ever before, always thought she was a super hero”! She was OUR super hero and now she’s an Angel in Heaven, two-stepping with Jesus- she always did like to dance.
Alzheimer’s came for Sandy in the prime of her life, earlier than most. It took pieces of her memory little by little and put her places she did not want to be, but she always knew her boys! She leaves behind her beloved sons, Richard Michael Keesy and Jeremy Clay Keesy, along with three grandchildren, Brady Saunders, Aschten Saunders and Kaitlyn Keesy as well as one great grandchild, Brayden.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
