SFC Caleb A. Service, 30, of Sanders, KY, died on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Columbus, GA, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born on June 25, 1987 in Lexington, Fayette County, KY the son of Scott L. Service of Independence, KY, and Beverly Carter Service of Worthville, KY. He was a 2005 graduate of Carroll County High School. He was currently serving as a Sergeant First Class Instructor in Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course in the United States Army based in Fort Benning, Georgia. He had also served in the 1/75th Ranger Regiment.
He loved hunting and fishing and his kids were his life.
He is survived by his wife, Marainda Downey Service, his three sons, Brayden, Dylan and Eli Service, all of Sanders, KY, his father, Scott L. Service of Independence, KY, his mother, Beverly Carter Service of Worthville, KY, a brother, Daniel Service of Lexington, KY, three sisters, Sarah Service and Amelia Service, both of Worthville, KY, and Hannah Noble of Campbellsburg, KY, he was loved by several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Full Military Honors will be presented by the United States Army Funeral Detail.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
