Sherry Hoopengarner

Sherry Kay Hoopengarner, 71, of Carrollton, KY, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at her daughters residence in Florence, IN.

She was born on January 1, 1948 in Michigan City, IN, the daughter of the late James Smitha and Mary (Meeks) Smitha.  She spent most of her life as a homemaker raising her children.  Some of her favorite activities included gardening,  going to yard sales and taking long drives enjoying the beautiful scenery.  She had attended Family Worship Center in Carrollton.

She will be sadly missed by her four daughters, Teresa (Johnny) Cox of Carrollton, KY, Cindy (Barney) Perry of Florence, IN, Crystal Ferguson and Angela Dagnan, both of Carrollton, KY, two sons, David Steelman (Companion Ed Wilkins) of Milton, KY, and Jimmy (Paula) Steelman of Carrollton, KY, two sisters, Sue Courtney of Ghent, KY, Donna (Pat) Dennis of Warsaw, KY, three brothers, Mike (Ruthie) Hoopengarner of Carrollton, KY, Terry (Yvonne) Hoopengarner of Carrollton, KY, and James Smitha of Ghent, KY, fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Danny Woods and a sister, Edith Smitha Gordon, two brothers, Jerry & Timmy Hoopengarner.
