Shirlene Hunter

Shirlene "Shirley" Hunter, 62, of Port Royal, KY., died early Saturday morning at her home in Port Royal.

She was born in Carroll Co., KY., the daughter of the late William Noble Ellis and Lillian Mae Bond. "Shirley" as she was commonly called, was a retired Teachers Aid for the Henry County School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton and in her spare time enjoyed helping with the Special Olympics.

Survivors include her husband; Chester Lee Hunter, a daughter; Allissha Chantel Crawford of Port Royal, KY., a son; Darin Patrick Hunter of Campbellsburg, KY and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son; Timothy Lane Hunter, two brothers; Jerry Stanley Ellis and Bobby Noble Ellis.

The Rev. Carl Rucker will officiate the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
