Shirley Byrd

Shirley Temple (Clay) Byrd, age 81, of Carrollton, KY passed from this life on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.  She entered this life on February 12, 1941 in Altro, KY the daughter of Elisha and Opal Stidham Clay.  Shirley was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and a former manager of McDonald’s in Carrollton.  She also was a homemaker and baker who loved spending time with and taking care of her family.  She also loved gardening and holidays.

Survivors include two daughters; Janet (Russell) Ramirez and Della Ann Byrd both of Carrollton, KY, three sons; Benjamin (Tammy Simmons) Hulley and Edward (Cindy Miller) Hulley both of Carrollton, KY, Mindel Joe (Tammy) Byrd of Madison, IN, a step-son; James “J.T.” (Theresa) Shaw of Carrollton, KY, two sisters; Lila Haddix of Canton, OH and Theresa Herald of Jackson, KY, 8 grandchildren; Vanessa Stubbs of Ontario, Canada, Benjamin Blaney Hulley of Madison, IN, Mindel Alan Byrd of Madison, IN, Mitchell Joseph Byrd of Madison, IN, Olivia Mae Johnson of Carrollton, KY, Eric Moya of California, Tanya Hulley of Arizona and Mattie Blue of Texas and one great grandchild; Mason Stubbs, and a brother-in-law; Bill Byrd of Worthville, KY.  She was preceded in death by; her parents, her first husband; Paul Hulley, her second husband; Mindel Byrd, Jr., a son; Paul Hulley, Jr., brothers; Charles, Bob, Clarence and Sam Clay.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Ison and Rev. Carl Rogers officiating.  Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.
