Shirley Mae Bebout Ogden Baker

Shirley Mae Bebout Ogden Baker, 84, of Sanders, KY, died at her home on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, in Sanders, KY.

  She was born in Oldham County, KY, on March 17, 1939, the daughter of the late Fred Bebout and Lily Josephine Smith Bebout.  Shirley served as a bank teller at the Citizen’s Bank in New Liberty, KY, for many years.  She was former part-owner and operator of Sanders Market in Sanders for many years and previously worked for Wal-Mart in Carrollton.

  Shirley was a former member of Sanders Baptist Church and had served as a Sunday School Teacher,  Bible School Organizer and assisted with many other church functions.  She currently was a member of the Cove Hill Baptist Church in Carrollton.  Some of her favorite things to do included raising flowers, being a mom and grandma, and spending time with her dog Bella.

  She will be missed by her three sons; Jack R. (Mary) Ogden, Jr., Paul W. (Lori) Ogden, and Fred T. (Cindy) Ogden, all of Sanders, KY; a daughter; Sherra Dunlap of Owenton, KY, a sister; Martha Hardesty of Sanders, KY, ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren along with several close nieces.

  Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter; Debbie Ogden Bartram, and her former husband; Jack Ogden, Sr.

  Memorial Services will be on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. at the Sanders Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Flowers officiating the service.  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. on Monday, July 3, 2023, at the church.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Sanders Baptist Church in the care of the funeral home.
