Thora O'Neal

Thora Johanna O'Neal, 88, of Carrollton, KY., died on Saturday morning, March 30, 2013 at the Green Valley Health & Rehab. Center in Carrollton, KY.

She was born on May 8, 1924 in Drammen, Norway the daughter of the late Nils Nilsen and Lilly Halvorsen Nilsen. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, having worked most of her life at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, IL., and after moving to the Carrollton area later working at the Swiss Villa Nursing Home in Vevay, IN. She was a member of the Ghent Baptist Church in Ghent, KY., and also the Ghent Woman's Club.

She will be missed by four daughters, Janet O'Neal Bunge of New Albany IN., Gail Ann Cecconi of Union, KY., Patricia O'Neal Hersey of Ghent, KY., and Peggy Jo Ogburn of Ghent, KY., ten grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walton Orville O'Neal in 2002, two sisters, Raedun Berdou in 1988 and Dorothy Hansen in 2002, one brother also preceded her in death Eric Nilsen in 1945.

Funeral Services were on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Graham Reynolds officiating the service. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Ghent Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.

Visitation

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Funeral

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Graham Reynolds officiating the service.

Interment

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
