Vernon Franklin Adams, Sr., 66, of Bedford, KY, died on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Norton King’s Daughters’ Health in Madison, IN.
He was born on June 19, 1955, in Madison, Jefferson County, IN, the son of late Webb Suter Adams and Isabelle (Briley) Cloyd – Adams. Vernon was currently working for Hussey Copper in Eminence, KY. He had previously worked for the former Dayton-Walther/Arvin–Meritor Factory in Carrollton for over 30 years, before the plant closing. He was a strong Christian believer and had served as a youth minister and enjoyed taking children to youth camp trips and would always find ways to help raise funds for children to attend camp. In his spare time, he loved working on any type of Art related projects and farm work.
Vernon will be missed by his son, Vernon Adams, II. of Crestwood, KY, his daughter, Laverna Dionne (Ryan) Stenger of Milton, KY, a nephew that he raised, Boyd Adams of La Grange, KY, his companion, Cindy Kidwell of Bedford, KY, a brother, John Cloyd of Henryville, IN, three sisters, Dorothy Davis and Teresa Bond of Carrollton, KY, and Connie Jackson of Sellersburg, IN, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Wayne and Luke Cloyd, Donnie, Noble, Maxwell and Lawrence Adams, and three sisters, Emma Hawkins, Martha Botkins and Mary Lou Adams.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
