Vernon Pryor

Vernon L.”Sonny” Pryor, 75, of Carrollton, KY, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

He was born on March 25, 1946, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, the son of the late Vernon D. Pryor and Virginia Johnson Pryor.  Vernon had served his Country Honorably in the United States Air Force retiring in 1988, while serving in the United States Air Force he specialized as a Combat Arms Instructor and Photographer.  After his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, he went to work for the Kentucky Department of Corrections in La Grange, KY, working in the Psychiatric Unit, retiring in 2002.  He was a member of the Church of the Rock in Batesville, IN, the Carrollton American Legion Post #41, and the National Rifle Association.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Anne Pryor of Carrollton, KY, a son, James A. “Jamie” (Katie) Pryor of Shelbyville, KY, a daughter, Amy (Jeremy) Burford of Osgood, IN, a sister, Patricia Ann (Joe) Kindoll of Ghent, KY, and four grandchildren, James Burford, Joseph Burford, Elizabeth Burford and Joselyn Burford.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
