Virginia Farrar

August 7, 1917 — December 23, 2005

Dorothy "Dot" Farrar, 88, of Warsaw, KY., died on Friday evening at the Carroll County Hospital in Carrollton, KY.

She was born in Owen County, KY., the daughter of the late Walker E. Chowning and Janetta Willhoite Chowning. Dorothy was married to her late husband William Lindsay Farrar for 70 years, she was the former Dog Warden of Gallatin County for over 25 years. Dorothy was a member of Sparta Christian Church.

Survivors include three sons; William Robert Farrar of Warsaw, KY., James L. Farrar of Sparta, KY., and Richard W. Farrar of Sanders, KY., 15 grandchildren, 32 greatgrandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister; Janie Moffett, brothers; Cecil, Snowdie, Jack David, Leroy and Walter Eugene Chowning.

The Rev. Ken Lafferty will officiate the Memorial Service on Thursday at the Cemetery.

Cremation was chosen by the family.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
