Virginia Unker

Virginia Giesler Unker, 86, of Carrollton, KY, died on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, KY.
She was born on June 10, 1928 in Madison, Jefferson County, IN, the daughter of the late Louis Edward Giesler and Zoe Dilk Giesler. She was a homemaker and had been the Bookkeeper for the Golden Burley Warehouse and Marshall-Harris Tobacco Warehouse in Carrollton. She had also worked for the former Kelly's Florist and Blossom Shop, both in Carrollton.
She was a member of the Union Grove Church. She was the former Chairperson and had served on the Carroll County Board of Education for many years. She was serving as President of the English Cemetery Board and she also served on the Carroll County 4-H Council.
In her spare time, she enjoyed Gardening, Reading, Sewing and Cooking for her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Unker of Frankfort, KY, two sons, Tom W. (Charlotte) Unker of Carrollton, KY, and Roger W. (Christi) Unker of LaGrange, KY, a brother, Edward Giesler of Madison, IN, and Jane Cotton of Danville, KY, along with four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank Luke Unker, Jr., on January of 1990.
Funeral Services were on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Bruce officiating the service. Visitation was on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the English Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.
Memorial Gifts: Hospice of the Bluegrass or Donors Choice in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements were entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Visitation was on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
