Walter Ray Dewitt, born on February 21, 1963, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, passed on April 8, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his lifelong career as a farmer.
Walter's life was rich with simple joys, and he embraced the outdoors with passion. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, activities that brought him closer to nature and provided cherished memories with friends and family.
Walter is survived by his beloved companion, Kathy Stevens of Worthville, Kentucky, who stood by his side through life's ups and downs. He is also mourned by his brother, Lester Dewitt of Owenton, Kentucky, and three sisters: Ruby Barnes of Austin, Indiana, Bonnie Robertson of Sanders, Kentucky, and Betty Dewitt of Glencoe, Kentucky. Each of them carries a piece of Walter's spirit, and his memory will live on through their stories and recollections.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Dewitt and Jesse Cox Dewitt, who raised him with love and instilled in him the values he lived by. Their legacy and guidance shaped Walter into the man beloved by many.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the graveside service at 1:00 P.M., taking place on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Dallasburg Cemetery in Wheatley, KY.
Walter Ray Dewitt will always be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his hard work as a dedicated farmer, and the love he shared with those around him. His spirit remains alive in the hearts of his loved ones, and he will be deeply missed.
