Walter C. “Doc” Holloway, 81, of Bedford, KY, died on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
He was born on January 25, 1941, in Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Margaret Riley. Walter had retired from M & T Chemical Company in Carrollton after 30 years of service, having worked as a Traffic Manager. He was of the Baptist faith.
Walter was called into active duty in the United States Army with the Carrollton Nation Guard Unit during the Vietnam War Era. During his active duty he served 20 years active duty and reserve duty combined, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Expert Rifle Medal.
Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia McNew of Carrollton, KY, a brother, Charlie (Ann) Holloway of Florida, a grandson, Joey (Tori) McNew of Carrollton, KY, and a granddaughter, Sadie Lynn McNew of Carrollton, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Myrna L. Wingham Holloway on March 24, 2015, and a brother, Ron Riley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN. Full Military Honors will be presented by the Madison American Legion Post #9.
