Wanda L. Baker, 68, of Carrollton, KY., died Wednesday evening, March 7, 2012 at her residence in Carrollton, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 18, 1943 in New Castle, Henry County, KY., the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret Tomlinson Gividen. She was a housewife and of the baptist faith.
She is survived by her sons, Desmus Baker, Jr. of Charlestown, IN., Berry Scott Baker of Jeffersonville, IN., a daughter, Leslie Spring Tharp of Jeffersonville, IN., two sisters, Janie Hayes of Madison, IN., and Portia Stangle of Carrollton, KY., three brothers, Donnie "Buck" Gividen of Madison, IN., Bobby Gividen of Williamstown, KY., Mike Gividen of Carrollton, KY.,six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Desmus Baker, Sr., one sister, Connie Gividen and one brother, Harry Gividen.
Memorial Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Tandy- Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with Mr. Cody Brown officiating the service. Visitation will be from Noon to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the funeral home. Cremation has been chosen by the family.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
