Wanda Simonton

Wanda Crawford Simonton, 86, of Sanders, KY,  died on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

She was born on October 15, 1931 in Magoffin County, KY, the daughter of the late Rickey O. Keeton and Virgie Lou Arnett Keeton.  She had farmed most of her life.  She had drove a School Bus for the Carroll County School System and also worked as a cafeteria cook at Cartmell Elementary School and Carroll County High School.  She had work at the A.H. Wirz tube factory in Carrollton as a machine operator years ago.

She was a member of the Jordan Baptist Church in Sanders, KY, and had served as the church treasurer for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and embroidery work.  She enjoyed working with the Carroll County Extension Homemakers.

She is survived by her three sons, Dennis Crawford, Grover Crawford and Doug Crawford, , all of Sanders, KY,  a step-daughter, Teresa Simonton Miles of Richmond, KY, a brother, John Robert Keeton of Vevay, IN, five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Claude N. Crawford on February 26, 1991,  her second husband, John T. “Jack” Simonton on August 26, 2002, her sister, Anna Rose Keeton Arnold on November 3, 2011, and her brothers, Walter Rickey Keeton in June of 1974 and Lucian Keeton on January 22, 2014.
