Wayne F. McAlister

Wayne F. "Ike" McAlister, 78, of Carrollton, KY., died on Tuesday afternoon at his residence in Carrollton surrounded by his loving family.

"Ike" as most people called him was born in Milton, Trimble County, KY., on August 5, 1928, the son of late Dell W. and Virginia (Murphy) McAlister. He currently owned and operated McAlister's Snow Removal Service in Carrollton, and when it started getting colder outside one of his favorite quotes was "Let it Snow". He was retired from Coo-Par Concrete Company working for 44 1/2 years for them as a Dispatcher. "Ike" was a member of the Family Worship Center in Carrollton.

Survivors include his wife; Wanda F. (Greer) McAlister to whom he married on January 28, 1988, a daughter; Sheila (Foster) Bradley of Louisville, KY., a son; Carroll W. "Bimp" McAlister of Carrollton, KY., a step-daughter; Sheila Seacy of Peytona, KY., a step-son; Michael Young of Smithfield, KY., brothers; Frank McAlister of New Albany, IN., John "Jonnie" McAlister of Commiskey, IN., and Bill "Sug" McAlister of Goshen, KY., ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife; Norma (Long) McAlister in 1980, two sisters; Louise Bickers and Virgina McAlister, three brothers; Raymond McAlister, Delmar McAlister and Donald W. McAlister, Sr., and one grandson; Shawn McAlister.

The Rev. Pat Butcher will officiate the service on Friday morning in the funeral home chapel.

Pallbearers will be Michael Young, Jerry Greer, Don McAlister, Jr., Danny McAlister, Brandon McAlister and Eddie Burke. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Parker, Bill Long, Buford Leach, Junior Seacy, Eddie Humble,Bill Foster, Brian Foster and Leon Greer.

In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Gifts are suggested to the Gideons International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
