Wiley Thomas Mefford

Wiley Thomas "Tommy" Mefford, 84, of Carrollton, KY, died on Friday, January 10, 2014 at his residence in Carrollton, KY.

He was born on March 31, 1929 in Ghent, Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Frank Thomas Mefford and Lottie (Skirvin) Mefford. He had retired from Richlawn Farms in Carrollton after working for over 38 years in farming. During the winter months after he retired he worked at the former Golden Burley Warehouse in Carrollton. He was a member of Whites Run Baptist Church were he had served as Deacon and Church Secretary.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Hicks) Mefford of Carrollton, KY, his son, Danny Dale Mefford of Prospect , KY, his daughter, Rita Ann Wilson of Carrollton, KY, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive. He was considered "Grandpa" by many others.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Susie Dora Mefford Dermon and Mary Elizabeth Mefford Ritch.

Funeral Services were on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Newcomer officiating the service. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrolton.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Whites Run Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.

Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
